KSU at Missouri State: Preview, How to Watch

The Kennesaw State Owls are back on the road this weekend as they face Missouri State. KSU improved its record to 2-1 after defeating Alabama State 42-7 last Saturday at ASU Stadium

This will be the second time in history the Owls will face a team from the Missouri Valley Conference. The first time was last year in the FCS quarterfinals when the Owls lost to South Dakota State 27-17 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

One Owl to watch is defensive lineman Joel Paker who notched three sacks and six tackles for loss against the Alabama State. He is the only player from the FCS and FBS to record at least three sacks and six tackles for loss in a game.

Through three games, the Owls are the most balanced team in the country. They are ranked No. 2 in the FCS in total defense, allowing 222.7 yards per game, and they are ranked fifth in total offense, recording 516.3 yards per contest. Last week, the Owls rushed for 481 yards which, the most by any FCS team and the second-most in all of college football only behind South Carolina’s 493 yards against Charleston Southern.

Missouri State started the year with losses to Northern Arizona and Tulane. The Bears are picked to finish 10th in the conference’s 2019 preseason poll and they have only scored 29 points in their first two games.
