The Kennesaw State Owls clinched a spot in the FCS playoffs after beating Monmouth on Saturday. They won the Big South Championship for the third time in three seasons and will now face Davidson in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium at 2 p.m. ET.
Davidson plays in the Pioneer Football League and finished the 2021 season with an 8-2 record. The Wildcats led the conference in scoring offense (40.3 points per game) and rushing offense (349.14). Davidson also led the conference in passing efficiency (180.1) but only attempted 80 passes all season.
KSU was hoping to get a first-round bye after finishing the year with a 10-1 record. Instead, the Owls will get ready to host their first playoff game since 2018, and the will winner of the game will take on ETSU in the second round of the playoffs next Saturday, Dec. 4.
