KSU at Hampton: Preview and How to Watch

Kennesaw State will be back on the road on Saturday to face Hampton, and it will be the first Big South Conference game of the year. The last time the Owls and Pirates met was in 2019, and KSU came away with a 50-7 victory.

The Owls seem to have found their grove after earning a huge win over Jacksonville State last week. Quarterback Xavier Shepherd won Big South Player of the Week honors after rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns. He will have an opportunity to gain some big yards against a Hampton rush defense that has allowed 180 yards per contest through four games.

While the ground attack for KSU is strong, the defense has been the real story so far this season. The Owls have the top-ranked scoring and total defense in the conference as well the 19th best total defense in the entire FCS. They have recorded a sack in nine consecutive games dating back to the 2019 season.

Hampton is coming off of an overtime loss to Norfolk State. The Pirates will allow their share of points but have one of the more potent offenses in the Big South, averaging 35 points and 466 yards per game.
