The Kennesaw State football team will be back on the road this week after losing to Georgia Tech last Saturday. The Owls will face Wofford, and while the two teams have faced each other twice since 2018, Saturday will be the first time the Owls and Terriers battle in the regular season. KSU beat Wofford in the second round of the 2018 FCS playoffs and the first round in 2019.
Saturday will be the first time this season the Owls will face an FCS opponent. In the season opener, KSU defeated Reinhardt, an NAIA school, and last week’s meeting against Georgia Tech was the first time the Owls faced an FBS Power 5 school. On Saturday, the Owls look to keep two streaks going. They have scored a rushing touchdown in 59 consecutive games, a streak that spans four full seasons. KSU also looks to record a sack in its eighth consecutive game.
Wofford was off last week after earning a 24-22 victory of Elon. Like the Owls, Wofford is one of the top rushing offenses in the country, averaging 232.8 yards per game during the 2021 spring season. That was one of the few highlights for Wofford this past spring as the team finished with the 1-4 record.
