Nick Masterson Named to ASUN Preseason All-Conference Team

KENNESAW, Ga. – Heading into his senior year, Nick Masterson has been voted onto the ASUN Preseason All-Conference Team.

A season ago, he was one of the best three-point threats in the country sinking 86 three pointers at a 54 percent clip, which was the second best in the country.

“I think Nick’s acknowledgement to be one of the better players in the league is due to his hard work,” head coach Al Skinner said. “We know how valuable he is and because of his improvement and his leadership, it is going to make us a better team this season.”

Masterson became the first Kennesaw State men’s basketball player named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team last season. The mechanical engineering major also was named to the ASUN All-Academic Team.

On the court, he finished second on the team averaging 12.9 points per game and with 96 assists while leading the team with 26 steals. Masterson also rarely turned the ball over finishing second in the ASUN in assist/turnover ratio.

The ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll was also released and Kennesaw State was voted to finish in fifth place. FGCU was chosen to repeat as champions.

The Owls begin their season on Friday, November 10 at Butler. Their first home game will be on Thursday, November 16 at 7 p.m. Fans can purchase their season tickets for the 14 home games now, and single-game tickets will be on sale soon.
