Atlanta United knew the fan base would be strong. This is the first major professional soccer team in the city’s history and the sport has grown dramatically over the last 20 years. So the buzz around the club was there.
But we weren’t expecting this.
In the first two home games, United has averaged over 50,000 fans which ranks No. 1 in Major League Soccer. The team that comes close to United when it comes to attendance is the Seattle Sounders, averaging 45,600 fans.

But it’s not just the fan support that makes United legit. After three games, they are tied for first place in the Eastern Conference with Orlando City and the New York Red Bulls. Untied have scored 11 goals in three games, which makes them the No. 1 offense in the league.

There’s no telling if United can keep this up because they are a young team that has a tough road ahead. But they have gotten the attention of the entire soccer world so it will be fun watching this team grow and become a contender.
