Looking at Owls’ 2020 Schedule

The Kennesaw State Owls are one of the best teams in the FCS. In the last three seasons, the team has won 34 regular-season games, four playoff games and they have reached the FCS quarterfinals two of the last three seasons. But is this the year they take the next step and play for the national championship? Here’s a look at the Owls’ 2020 schedule.

Sept. 5 – vs. Point University: This will be the fourth time the Owls play the school from West Point, Ga. KSU has averaged 54 points in the three meetings against the Skyhawks.

Sept. 12 – at Kent State: The Owls faced Kent State for the first time last year and lost in overtime. KSU is still looking for their first win against an FBS opponent and it could come against the Golden Flashes.

Sept. 19 – vs. Alabama State: KSU has played the Hornets three times and have won all three matchups. The Owls have averaged 41 points in the three meetings.

Sept. 26- vs. Tarleton State – The Texans are making the jump from Divison II to Division I this year. They won the Lone Star Conference last year and clinched a playoff berth.

Oct. 3 – vs. Samford: The Owls and Bulldogs go at it for the first time in two years. KSU has won the last two meetings including a 28-17 win in the first round of the 2017 FCS playoffs.

Oct. 10 – at North Alabama: KSU played North Alabama for the first time last year and won 41-17.

Oct. 24 – at Gardner-Webb: Both of these teams have played each other five times and the Owls have won all five meetings. It will likely be the same story this year.

Oct. 31 – vs. Hampton: Owls took down Hampton 50-7 in the first meeting last year.

Nov. 7 – at Charleston Southern: After beating KSU the first two meetings, Charleston Southern have fallen to the Owls in the last three games including a 45-23 win last year.

Nov. 14 – vs. Campbell – KSU was able to get past Campbell 38-35 last year. This will be a crucial game for both teams as they try to clinch the Big South title.

Nov. 21 – at Monmouth: This is the game the Owls have circled on their calendar. Last year, Monmouth took down KSU 45-21 and went on to win the conference title. However, both teams reached the playoffs and won their first-round playoff games.
